Pottery Classes in Downtown Salida, Colorado
Whether you are completely new to ceramics, took a few classes in high school, or an experienced potter that wants to brush up on some skills, we can find a class for you here at the Maverick Potter!

Courses are 6 or 7 weeks
Our courses are suitable for all skills and experience levels. Our instructors create a friendly class experience where students learn the complete process of making ceramic pieces from start to finish!
Students will learn all about making pottery, from how to throw on the wheel to the complete glazing and firing process! Classes happen both at our downtown studio location and at our High Mountain Kiln operation at the Maverick Potter Home Studio.
Students will end up with a few fully finished ceramic pieces, and a ton of new ceramic knowledge!
Our 6 class course is $295 per person, 7 class course is $345. There is an additional $35 materials and firing fee for all wheel courses.
Clay cafe is back!
Thursday evenings 5:30 to 7:30.
Handbuilding or wheel time $25 for 2hrs. Clay is $2 per pound. Bisque firing is included. Glaze firing fees assessed individually and start at $8 (depends on number of pieces/kiln space required).
Prior experience is required for wheel time. Brief hand-building instruction can be arranged for an additional fee.
